| You turn your
car into the old theater driveway at twilight. The long path from the
road to the theater is lined with tombstones from the nearby
cemetery. It has been decades since the monuments, covered with
moss and weeds, have been maintained. The nearby trees are
silhouettes against a darkening sky. In the distance, the clouds
of a thunder storm are just on the horizon.
The driveway takes a sudden, sharp
turn and up ahead the theater appears. You hold your breath when you see
it. Although it has been five years since the owner of this
remote theater went into bankruptcy, the theater is not what you
expected at all. You stare at the great sweep of the building, the
front windows seem to stare at you like an eye. The roof sags, the
concrete leans to one side as if blown on by too many storms. This
is a dying building.
You get out of your car and slam
the door shut. You have come to make plans to tear the old theater
down and sell off the land for real estate development. People
have warned you about the building. You pull out your keys and
open the doors. Immediately, a blast of stall and moldy air hits
you. The interior, damaged by a leaking roof, smells
rotten.
Although this theater has
a strange reputation in the area for being haunted, you force yourself inside the dark
lobby.
You have come to spend the rest of
your life here.....
